Stará hora, Merlot, grape selection, dry, 2020

447  Incl. VAT

The grapes come from the best vineyard in the Stará hora line in the wine-growing village of Moravská Nová Ves, with a very reduced harvest. They are processed by controlled fermentation technology including malolactic fermentation using pure bacterial cultures followed by maturation for 12 months in Mercurey GC, Mercurey M+ 2 YEARS and Francois Freres French oak barrels. The wine is ruby red in colour with a broader lighter meniscus and very good viscosity. The nose is clean, intense, with hints of smoke, ripe black fruit and spice. Medium-bodied clean palate with juicy fruit acidity, transformed black fruits, cherries, cranberries, prunes pomegranate, blackcurrants and blackberries. Multi-layered bouquet with very well structured tannins. Unfiltered.

Recommendation:

With stewed beef with mushroom sauce, with game specialties, with beef fillet, with aged cheeses such as Gorgonzola, Blu Fou, Roquefort, with chocolate dessert with cherries.
